Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Amitabh Bachchan

New Delhi, 24 Sep : Distinguished actor Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

The government award is India’s highest honour given in the field of cinematic art. Bachchan will be honoured with the award for inspiring generations with his diverse work.

“The legend Amitabh Bachchan who entertained and inspired for two generations has been selected unanimously for Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The entire country and international community is happy. My heartiest congratulations to him,” Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar wrote on Twitter while announcing the news on Tuesday.

Bachchan has successfully transitioned from Bollywood’s “Angry Young Man” to the “Shahenshah” of popular cinema, and gone onto become Indian film world’s most recognised icon on the global stage, through a career spanning over five decades.

The actor started his journey in showbiz as one of seven protagonists in “Saat Hindustani”, and then went on to feature in the Rajesh Khanna-starrer “Anand”. Once he got noticed in Prakash Mehra’s 1973 hit, “Zanjeer”, there was no looking back. The film also marked the birth of his Angry Young Man avatar.

Amitabh Bachchan means different things to different fans. Some remember him as the towering lead in films like “Deewaar”, “Zanjeer”, “Don” and “Sholay”, while some appreciate his nuanced, National Award-winning portrayals in “Black”, “Paa” and “Piku”. There are fans who celebrate him for his comic timing, while others swear by his intense screen presence.

Prabhas is super excited to join his Baahubali team in London for the royal reunion

Mumbai, 03 Oct. : Superstar Prabhas who created a rage with his iconic Baahubali character across the globe is excited to join his Baahubali team in London on October 19th to experience M.M Keeravani’s epic score performed live in sync by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in this world premiere event.

SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ has been at the centre of attention, is all set to get further global attention yet again, this time at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. The first part of the series ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ will be screened along with the live music accompanied by a full symphony orchestra performing MM Keeravani’s epic score.  

Excited Prabhas took to his Instagram handle and shared, “Super excited to join my #Baahubali team in London on October 19th to catch a LIVE rendition of MM Keeravaani’s score for the film by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra! Would love all of you to join us”.  

This is not the first time for ‘Baahubali’ got international attention as the movie was earlier screened at various global film festivals. The movie which released in the year 2015 stood out to be the highest grosser of Indian cinema. Later in the year 2017, the sequel ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ was released which also shattered records.  

The Baahubali franchise has garnered immense love and appreciation from all the quarters. Owing to the success of the Baahubali franchise, Prabhas has now become a pan-Indian phenomenon.  

Prabhas will next be seen under the direction of ‘Jil’ fame Radha Krishna Kumar. The working title of the movie is ‘Amour’ along with Pooja Hegde.

I’ve Become Stronger Now, Says Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh

He gained instant stardom by belting out hits such as Main Sharabi, Angrezi beat and Lungi dance. Punjabi rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, who has openly spoken about his struggles with bipolar disorder and alcoholism, says he has emerged stronger after his battles with his demons.

Singh was missing from the limelight around 2016-2017. He made a stunning comeback with songs like Dil chori and Chhote chhote peg in the film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. He even featured in music video after four years with the single Makhna.

Has he come out stronger? “I have become stronger now. I never faced such problems in life but when it happened I had my family to support me and help me fight and get out of it,” Singh told. Singh, who real name is Hirdesh Singh, says he was sick and hence his career got a little slow during that phase.

“I was sick and when I recovered I chose to stay in the studio, and I think I made around more than 35 songs from 2017 to 2019. All these songs will come out soon.”

Singh can be labelled as the face of Punjabi pop in the late 2000s. His tracks became Bollywood specials, often a film’s main ingredient, as he started giving one hit after the other in movies such as Cocktail, Chennai Express, Khiladi 786 and Boss.

Gauri Khan designs a Bollywood inspired space for a beauty brand

Mumbai, 01 Oct. : Gauri Khan, known for designing some of the most glamourous celebrity homes and commercial spaces, recently worked on the interiors of an office space for a beauty brand, Bollyglow which celebrated its one-year anniversary last week.

The Bollyglow brand is the brain child of the 26-year-old, Iman Allana, a young entrepreneur from Dubai. The space is unique as it weaves in the glamour associated with Bollywood and stays true to what Bollyglow reflects as a beauty brand, which is a great fusion of Bollywood, beauty and women empowerment.

“It allowed me to bring Bollywood elements to life through my design and as a woman entrepreneur, it’s always great to empower other women entrepreneurs”, said Gauri Khan so was also present at the one-year anniversary celebration of the brand.

Gauri Khan Designs (GKD) has worked on multiple residential and commercial projects and is one of the most sought-after names in design.

Some of their key projects include a spa in Goa, designing a line of luxury marble products to designing a contemporary Mexican restaurant Sancho’s in Mumbai, which was their third restaurant project after Arth Mumbai and Pune. In addition to this, GKD’s work with product design includes, designing a limited-edition bottle for the seventh anniversary celebration of the premium milk brand, Pride of Cows and being the brand ambassador of Tisva, a premium lighting solution from the house of Usha International for which she curated an exclusive range of designer lights.
