Punjab extends lockdown till June 30, with more conditional relaxations

Chandigarh, 30 May : Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Saturday announced extension in the lockdown in Punjab till June 30, with more relaxations subject to the guidelines of the central government.

Coronavirus cases in Punjab rise to 2081; death toll 40; recovered 1913

Chandigarh, 25 May : The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 2081 after 21 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Monday evening. The death toll in the state stands at 40 after now new death was reported in the state.

According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Amritsar reported 10 new cases of coronavirus while Jalandhar reported 6 new cases. Likewise, one new case was reported each from Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Mohali, Patiala, and Sangrur.

A total of 15 patients have been declared cured and discharged in the last 24 hours. Of 15 recovered cases, 3 are from Jalandhar, 1 from Gurdaspur, 10 from Faridkot, and 1 from SBS Nagar.

Chandigarh, 12 April : In a bloody clash in Punjab, an Assistant Sub-Inspector’s (ASI) hand was chopped off and three others got grievous injuries on Sunday when a group of Nihang Sikhs attacked them in Patiala town on being asked about curfew permission, police said.
